Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival has become the most reputable domestic festival both in name and reality.

The vast festival site, reaching over 1.8km, can be separated into three parts;
snow & ice zone, stream zone, city center culture experiencing zone.
Regarding the size of the area, it is recommended to confirm your schedule in advance based on which part you would want to explore.
After preparing rather a thorough schedule, you will be entering the fishing spots.
Each hole is aligned with 3-4m of the gap, featuring the scene of passionate fishers occupying each hole.
From place to place, people start hooking up fish, cheered up with joy and happiness.
You may gaze at them with envious eyes and, yet, your fish rod would show the sign of the fish,
sensing the heavy and strong shake within your hands.
There, you have your fish, your very own Sancheoneo.
The best delicacy of the Winter and exciting activities
You now have your fish, it’s the time to try them! You can try them in lots of different ways,
yet, the utmost recommended way is to try it as sashimi first while it’s fresh and then get it grilled with what is left.
You can even try fish-grabbing with your hands!
