Hantangang River meandering through Yeoncheon creates picturesque painting-like landscapes in its path. The beautiful scenery can be attributed to the topography formed by hardened lava which erupted around 270,000 years ago.
There is a legend behind Jaein Falls. A long time ago, a magistrate of this town became attracted to a beautiful wife of a tightrope-walking acrobat Jaein in Korean and ordered the acrobat to walk on a tightrope above the falls. The magistrate cut the rope in the middle of the show, causing the death of the acrobat, and tried to take the acrobat’s wife with him, which led the woman to commit a suicide. Since then on, the falls has been called Jaein Falls which, people thought, harbors the sad, resentful spirit of Jaein.

The festival is home to hundreds of thousands of chrysanthemum flowers of various types, colors and shapes and it covers around 30,000ใก, and has around 40,000 flower pots filled with the representative flower.
There are many sculptures that showcase the characteristics of Yeoncheon, like trains, hot air balloons, Jaein Falls and the Rainbow Tunnel. This is the perfect spot to snap some nice photos!
๐ Jeongok Prehistory Museum๐ 
This is a world-class prehistoric museum built in the Jeongok-ri ruins of Yeoncheon, where the first Acheulean hand ax was found in East Asia,
Sparking an attempt to gain a new understanding of Paleolithic culture in East Asia, you can find different exhibitions that explain how life was in that era. From different tools used, to their clothing, to a real mammoth fossil!
The Jeongok Prehistory Museum, which is based on the mysterious curves of primitive life, is an interactive museum that helps visitors enjoy and understand prehistoric culture through various paleolithic sculptures proportional to real artifacts and colorful hands-on programs.
If you go outside, you can find sculptures depicting the housing and the activities the people from this time did, like lighting fires, grooming and hunting. It's an interesting way to immerse yourself in the history of the place.
