The newly built DMZ Art House, which was created as part of the DMZ Culture and Arts Enthusiasm Project will hold exhibitions of artists working in Cheorwon.
Art experience programs linked to the exhibition will also be presented.
๐ Dongsong Traditional Market๐
Yipyeong-ri, where the market is located, was a part of North Korea after liberation in 1945. However, after the Korean War in 1950, it became South Korean, and civilians began to live there in June 1954. Dongsong Traditional Market was created in 1954 to provide daily necessities of local residents and is the largest market in Cheorwon-gun where various agricultural products produced in Cheorwon-gun can be purchased. Take a chance to try delicious tteokbokki or why not hotteok?
๐ก Cheorwon Historical and Cultural Park & Soyisan Monorail ๐
In the 1930s, Cheorwon-gun was one of the three major cities in Gangwon-do with a population of more than 80,000 people, and modern facilities such as Cheorwon-gun Office, Cheorwon Police Station, Cheorwon Theater, Cheorwon Station, School, and Bank were operated in the city of Cheorwon-eup. Cheorwon Historical and Cultural Park was recreated so that you can see and experience the city of Cheorwon-eup, which was economically prosperous at that time, and in particular, you can take a monorail to Soyisan Mountain at Cheorwon Station.
Cheorwon Station, where about 280,000 people got on and off, 63,000 tons of luggage, and 80 station staff worked in 1937. Cheorwon Station operates a monorail that goes up to the top of Soyisan Mountain. The Soisan Monorail runs 1.8km round trip for a fee, and you can enjoy the golden field of Jaesongpyeong of Soisan Mountain
