Sambuyeon Falls
Sambuyeon Falls is a three-stage waterfall with a height of about 20m located in the granite area in the middle of Myeongseongsan Mountain (870m). The age of the granite that makes up the waterfall is estimated to be about 110 million years old. Sambuyeon Falls is called Sambuyeon Falls because the water stream is bent three times and the lower part of the waterfall is shaped like a cauldron. The person who named Sambuyeon was Kim Chang-heup (1653-1722), a Neo-Confucian scholar and poet in the early and mid-Joseon Period.
Cheorwon Hansang Columnar Joint Road
Located in the UNESCO World Geopark of the Hantan River, Cheorwon Hantan River Columnar Joint Trail is 3.6km long and 1.5m wide, where you can experience both thrilling and beautiful scenery along cliffs in Sundam Valley filled with colorful rocks. Cheorwon Hantangang Columnar Joint Path is a walking path made by installing a small bridge between the cliffs. The river was created 50,000 to 100,000 years ago by hot lava that flowed from Orisan Mountain in present-day North Korea.
