Yeongju which is famous for its ginseng (a plant root), sells an abundance at this market. Ginseng has not only great health benefits,
but can be added to many foods for great flavor.
Every October the city hosts the Ginseng Festival, however this market sells their ginseng year round.
Yeongju is also famous for its beef so the market is great to try some as well as some traditional Korean street food and the many
international food options also available.
๐ Sosuseowon Confucian academy ๐
The first private academy in Korea, the historic area is incredibly well preserved, which allows visitors to feel the true historical
grandness of the grounds.
Now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filled with not only the historic architecture but various artifacts of the
Joseon Dynasty in the attached museum.

This themed exhibit shows various traditional aspects of Korean culture and was thoughtfully centered in Yeongju, as the
city is known for its many scholars.
Split into 6 different "villages" each exhibition shows something different!
The themes include traditional style homes (Hanok), Korean writing system (Hangul), Traditional clothing (Hanbok),
Korean paper (Hanji), Korean food, and Korean music.
Through live performances Sunbee World teaches in an engaging, entertaining way, but also keeps many Korean traditions alive.
In each exhibit there's interactive activities to demonstration each aspect of Korean culture.
