How Well Do You REALLY Know Your Best Friend? ๐๐
You know their favorite food. You know what makes them laugh.
You probably even know the stories theyโve told a hundred times.
But how well do you really know your best friend?
ย
My friend and I recently visited 4233 Mindspace, an experience-based
ย exhibition designed for two people to explore not only their own personalities,
ย but also the relationship they share.
Through games, questions, creative challenges, and a few surprisingly
ย deep conversations, we got to see our friendship from a completely different perspective.

We weren't exactly sure what to expect when we arrived,ย
but it turned out to be such a unique experience!
First, We Started Our Journey Together โจ
ย

4233 Mindspace isn't like a traditional museum or exhibition.ย
Instead of simply walking around
and looking at displays, we became part of the experience ourselves.Throughout the space,
we completed different activities and answered questions that made us think about our
ย personalities, emotions, communication styles, and how we see each other.

Our first activity asked us to think about how we see our relationship.

The first activity made us contemplate how we feel towardsย
each other We both had to pick monkeys
that we felt best represented us. These monkeys show the deeper meaning of how we
ย view our relationship and allowed us to think through how we became friends

It sounds simple, but the choices actually had deeper meanings behind them,
ย giving us a chance to talk about how we see each otherย
and even think back to how our friendship began.
Next Was the โEverything Auctionโ ๐จ

This was where things started getting competitive!
The Everything Auction explores what we value most in relationships and what we are willing
to prioritize or sacrifice for another person. Instead of bidding on ordinary objects,
each item represents something deeper.
For example, one of the items I won was a money jarย
that fills up every month, representing stability.

Me and my friend talked about how each item representedย
a value that we had and how they played a role for our friendship andย
our families and analyzed where our values differ vs are similiar.

After the auction, my friend and I talked about why we wanted certain items and
what those choices said about us. We compared the things we value in friendships and family
ย relationships and discovered where our priorities were similar, and ย
where they were completely different.

Our favorite part was discovering the meaning behind each item.
But honestly... trying to outbid each other for the things we wanted was pretty fun too. ๐

Next, we entered Alikes and Different, where we answered questions aboutย
everyday habits, preferences, and pet peeves.
At the end, we discovered that my friend and I were 64% similar!

For each question, we chose between A or B and then compared our answers.
Some answers were exactly what we expected.
Others made us look at each other and say, โWait... really?!โ
The fun part wasn't simply getting the same answer.ย
It was seeing how some of our differences actually complement each other,ย
almost like different pieces of the same puzzle.

After that, we entered the largest section, where we couldย
choose which activity we wanted to try first.
Naturally, we started with the Compliment Bouquet.

Here, we chose the qualities we appreciate most about each other.ย
Each quality is represented by a different flower,ย
which comes together to create a personalized bouquet on a postcard.
We then wrote a personal message to each other on the back.
It was such a simple activity, but it made us stop and
ย think about why we became friends in the first place and
ย which qualities we genuinely appreciate in one another.

Next up was one of the funniest activities: the Proverb Challenge.
We each received words that we had to act out in the photo booth,ย
then worked together to guess the proverb without directly saying the words we were given.
It tested how well we could understand eachย
other's clues when normal communication wasn't possible.

The activity was funny on the surface, but there was an interesting idea behind it.ย
It gave us a playful way to think about how we deal with misunderstandingsย
and communication barriers in real life.

Then we tried a quieter activity.
We each received a piece of paper with a simple shapeย
and had to turn that shape into a drawing connected to one of our memories.

ย For our next adventure, we playedย Personality Monopolyย and tried Fragments of Language.ย

In Personality Monopoly, instead of answering questions about ourselves, we had to answer
ย questions about each other. If we correctly guessed the other person's answer,ย
we earned a flag and claimed that space.
Suddenly, all those years of friendship were being put to the test!
How well did we actually know each other's habits, thoughts, and preferences?

Next came Fragments of Language.
We selected 20 pieces, counted the different shapes at the top,ย
and entered the numbers into the system.
From our choices, we received an analysis highlighting different aspects of our personalities,
ย including some of our strengths and weaknesses.

And Finally... the Moodmeter ๐ญ
This ended up being one of our favorite activities.
We were shown six uncomfortable situations andย
had to choose which one would make us feel the most uncomfortable, and explain why.

This was where the experience became surprisingly meaningful.
Instead of simply choosing an answer, we started sharing stories about why certain situations
made us uncomfortable. Those conversations naturally led to talking about past experiences,ย
personal boundaries, and the moments that shaped the way we react to certain situations today.
Even as close friends, we learned things about each other that we had never talked about before.

Before leaving, we reflected on what we appreciate about our relationshipย
and used matching stamps to create one final picture together.
