🏞️Odae Mountain in Pyeongchang 🏞️

Odae Mountain is a natural beauty which has different peaks, but the highest one is Birobong peak with an altitude of 1,563 meters.

It is a trail monks and Buddhists used to take and is often  taken for Buddhist pilgrimage purposes. Indeed, there are temples along the way but the main reason is that Odae Mountain has 5 mountain peaks nicknamed the “Five Platforms Mountains” that refers to the base-table where Buddha statue sits on. The peaks were named after the Buddha who was believed to have sat on them. 📿

On your way up, you can also encounter wild animals which have been reintroduced in the area to save the species like foxes. 🦊

Odae Mountain also holds a historical significance as it is home to the Odaesansago National History Archives Site, where the Records of the Joseon Dynasty were stored.

Odae Mountain also welcomes festivals in every season, so make sure to stay informed about the events.
