Every one of these national treasures are worth visiting. But, this time Plus planner chose to focus on 4 of these mountains to provide you the best experience through our knowledge about the locations.
🌄Seorak Mountain in Sokcho🌄
Seorak Mountain has been listed in UNESCO as a Biosphere reverse since 1982. Seorak Mountain has a peak named Daecheongbong peak that is 1,708 meter-high, which ranks it as the third highest mountain in Korea.
You’ll enjoy scenic roads along the different hiking paths with rich tree forest, bridges and rivers. 🌲And of course, depending on the season you can be welcomed by red leaves, flowers or even snow and ice! ❄️
Seoraksan is a pretty popular mountain among Koreans and foreigners, as the hike to the peak can be challenging for regular hikers but is still manageable for beginners too. The mountain is also known to have the best view for sunrise and sunset from atop. 🌄

⛰️Sobaek Mountain in Danyang⛰️
Sobaek Mountain is another well-known mountain that offers an outstanding natural and splendid landscape you won’t forget. Hikers enjoy this mountain all year, but it is best recommended to come during spring season to witness blooming flowers like wildflowers or full-blooming royal azaleas in May.
You can also come during winter where the mountains are covered in snow during 6 months of the year. 🌨️ It is one of the reasons why it is called the Korea Alps.
There are temples and waterfalls on the way, but once you reach the top, you are above the clouds! It is an incredible sensation to feel on top of the world. ⛰️

🏞️Odae Mountain in Pyeongchang 🏞️
Odae Mountain is a natural beauty which has different peaks, but the highest one is Birobong peak with an altitude of 1,563 meters.
It is a trail monks and Buddhists used to take and is often taken for Buddhist pilgrimage purposes. Indeed, there are temples along the way but the main reason is that Odae Mountain has 5 mountain peaks nicknamed the “Five Platforms Mountains” that refers to the base-table where Buddha statue sits on. The peaks were named after the Buddha who was believed to have sat on them. 📿
On your way up, you can also encounter wild animals which have been reintroduced in the area to save the species like foxes. 🦊
Odae Mountain also holds a historical significance as it is home to the Odaesansago National History Archives Site, where the Records of the Joseon Dynasty were stored.
Odae Mountain also welcomes festivals in every season, so make sure to stay informed about the events.

🏔️Bukhan Mountain in Seoul🏔️
Most likely the most famous mountain in Seoul, Bukhansan stands as the tallest mountain in the capital with its Baegundae peak, which is 836.5 meters high. The mountain has the nickname "Samgaksan" which means the “three horned-mountain” because it is home to three major mountain peaks: Baegundae peak, Insubong peak and Mangyeongdae peak. ⛰️
The current name, Bukhansan, was given after the Bukhansanseong Fortress was built during the Joseon Dynasty by King Sukjong. Bukhan Mountain is a really popular hiking spot as it allows you to embrace nature and fresh air without needing to go out of the capital. It is definitely a practical mountain for those who do not stay long in Korea and those who want a quick escape from the bustling life in Seoul. 🌁
Bukhan Mountain has different trails for all levels of hikers. Even if the mountain has high peaks, beginners can also enjoy easy to moderate trails around the mountain. Advanced hikers can challenge themselves by doing multiple peaks trails too. 🥾
